Agency: BBH London
This reel shows a diversity of commercials I created for Barclays while working at BBH.
Director: James Rouse
You Vs. That Sinking Feeling
This was one of the Barclays You Vs. series. A series of TV spots where we watch financially testing times unfold and Barclays offering some solace.
In You Vs. That Sinking Feeling we capture that horror we used to feel when we had to wait 7 working days (!!) to get a debit card replacement. Barclays were the first bank to offer same day replacements; clerks in shining armor.
TRIVIA: In an effort to bring some diversity to British banking commercials here I managed to get fellow northerner Julian Barrett to do our voice over here. Small wins.
Directors: The Tubby Brothers
Barclays Code Playground… For Grown Ups
We wanted to prove how easy it is to learn code using Barclays Code Playground so we trained up some kids in secret to see if they could become their parents coding experts.
It's one the most complicated productions I've ever done, trying to fathom how we film a seemingly ordinary coding day for parents and not let the kids give the game away!
This film was a part of a huge body of work that was Winner of The Webby Award.

Barclays Code Playground | Father’s Day Special
Barclays Code Playground is an online initiative we created for Barclays that helps kids dip their toes into the world of code. For Father’s Day we created a code your own father’s day card edition where kids were able to use code for the first time to create a family portrait and post it as an ecard to their Dad. This was targeted at the largest online presence of parents in the UK: Mumsnet.
Director: Linda Brown Lee
Barclays: Derek’s Story
One of a series of moving portraits we did for promoting the ease of banking online with Barclays. Derek is a real Barclays customer and advocate of online banking.
Director: Marc Reisbig
Barclays Life Skills
Life Skills is an initiative set up by Barclays to help kids with entering the world of work. We interviewed one of the first kids to use the Life Skills website to pass on his knowledge.
The film got recognised as a Finalist in the British Animation Awards 2014.
