Hi, I'm Laura Osborne, Creative Director, Art Director and occasional tagline writer (La Dolce Velveeta).
I’m a Brit, Pom Mom, aesthete, art & curio collector, audiophile and Desertfest NY disciple, based in Brooklyn NY.
I’ve mobilised a meme that hit the front page of every major newspaper in London to New York; introduced TFL Oyster contactless payments with Barclaycard; brought tears to the eyes of the owner of the Glastonbury Festival; launched Facebook Stories before Stories was mainstream social media lexicon; prompted an AI neural network called ZenMan to write a screenplay on what love is; gave the Volkwagen Beetle the retirement send off it deserved at New Years Eve Ball Drop, Times Square; and revitalised a 103 year old national treasure by sneaking Velveeta into Vogue.
I had a modest upbringing in Yorkshire (where we talk like Jon Snow), but with aesthetes for parents I was taught how to find joy in the details.
With the rugged edge of the Pennines as my playground I became obsessed with beauty through painting, photography, birdwatching and stargazing.
On rainy days I’d learn how to use new software, watch my dad’s sci-fi VHS tapes or pour over my mum’s dark German fairytale books.
That ingrained curiosity, creativity, resourcefulness - and love for the strange - guided me to London, San Francisco and New York.
I’ve worked at boutique agencies, global advertising agencies and in-house. I’ve enjoyed imagining new brand identities, developing and launching new technology products, tugging at the heartstrings of brand fans and most of all, making people laugh.
